Advent

O God, take me in spirit to the watchful shepherds,

and enlarge my mind;

Let me hear good tidings of great joy, and hearing,

believe, rejoice, praise, adore,

my conscience bathed in an ocean of repose, my

eyes uplifted to a reconciled Father;

place me with ox, ass, camel, goat, to look with

them upon my Redeemer’s face, and in him

account myself delivered from sin;

let me with Simeon clasp the new-born child to my

heart,

embrace him with undying faith,

exulting that he is mine and I am his.

In him thou has given me so much that heaven can

give no more.

Zoe

You may have noticed my daily photos have come to a standstill. That’s because my daily walks where I’d take the photo also stopped. On 22/11/11 I ran a marathon instead.

Our daughter Zoe joined our family last week, weighing 3.77kg and measuring 52cm. What a precious gift from God she is! We’re enjoying getting to know her, learning all the ins and outs of this newborn stage and whiling away the hours simply staring at her.

A great joy

It is with great joy that I share this picture of my little friend. They’ve been accompanying me on my front for the past 23 weeks now.

Despite what has been a difficult road for us, Izaac and I by no means feel as though now that we’re pregnant we’ve ‘made it’. Amidst the joy is the nagging reminder in the backs of our minds that things will be hard for the rest of our child-bearing years. But we’re praying that we’ll continue to trust God with the direction of our lives and for the very real life of this little one. We feel very humbled by how God has answered our prayers (and the prayers of many friends), giving us this baby to grow and know. Please join us in giving thanks to him for his kindness!

Hello, 2nd Yr 2011.

I received my college results today. I always feel an inkling of anxiety as I click download and wait for the transcript to appear. But I am pleased to say I am able to move on to second year in 2011!

There are some first year units which I still need to complete as I only did a 75% load this year, but I’ll mostly be keeping up with my year group, which is lovely.
